On October 14th, content creator Evangelina González, along with Spanish engineer and manufacturer David de la Vega, one of the founders of the Bewatt brand, achieved an official Guinness World Record that marks a turning point in electric mobility: they traveled 95.33 km on an electric skateboard using a single battery charge.
While most electric skateboards on the market offer a range of between 20 and 45 km, Bewatt decided to go further.
Instead of accepting the current limitations of the industry, they challenged them.
David de la Vega designed an electric skateboard from scratch, manufactured in Spain and equipped with a high-capacity battery system, with the goal of creating the electric skateboard with the longest range on the European market.
The Test It was carried out in Madrid following a route that met the technical requirements of Guinness, including positive elevation gain, GPS recording and continuous verification by means of witnesses distributed along the route. The journey lasted 9 hours and 43 minutes.
This isn't the first record: Spain already demonstrated its strength in 2023
This Guinness attempt didn't come out of nowhere.
In 2023, Evangelina and Bewatt had already made history by achieving a previous world record: the longest journey on an electric scooter, covering 2,135.70 km from Frankfurt to Madrid, testing the durability and efficiency of Spanish electric scooters in real-world conditions.
That achievement positioned Spain as a leader in electric mobility and paved the way for this new challenge: to demonstrate that they could also lead the market in range per charge.
- “The industry always talked about limits. We wanted to demonstrate that range can be multiplied,” explains David de la Vega, the scooter's designer.
- “This isn't just about distance. It's about demonstrating that the electric scooter can be a means of transportation "Sustainable, emission-free, and with the autonomy that users really need," adds Evangelina González.
