The team had Laia Sanz - Maurizio Gernini, Carlos Checa - Marc Solá and Óscar Fuertes - Diego Vallejo as pilots. After the Astara Team was the most sustainable team in the competition in 2022, in this 2023 they faced the adventure with the ASTARA 01 CONCEPT and taking a further step in sustainability in the world of automobile competition.

The proposal was based on the creation of a buggy, the ASTARA 01 CONCPETO, a car capable of accelerating from 1 to 10 km/h in 6 seconds, designed with light and resistant materials that can withstand the harsh conditions of the Dakar and powered by a fuel ecological, the other great proposal of the Spanish team. E-fuel is a synthetic fuel that reduces emissions by 90% compared to a gasoline engine and does not emit solid waste or microparticles, thus avoiding tons of CO2 from entering the atmosphere. This year, exceeding the proposal of 22, the team competed with 90% of this fuel.

The team can be proud of their work and sustainable and innovative proposal at a technical level and of their pilots: Carlos Checa tenth in the TI category and 23rd overall, Laia Sanz - Maurizo, 32nd overall and óscar fuertes, who had to be evacuated in the first stage after a rollover of the car, is out of danger.
